After reading other posts about the consumer law center you may be lucky they aren't in charge of your case anymore! I'm so sorry you're going through this. I see you're listed as a guest...have you thought about signing up for the free debt consultation on this site? This is a community of people who have been through similar things--I'm sure someone here will have some sage advice for you.

The firm that you hired has been shut down by the FTC. They are under investigation for fraud. Before you hire a debt settlement Company, do extensive research and background checks. One very reputable firm is Debt Zero. Here is a link to their site. Good luck.

Yes , Debt Zero is so reputable in fact that they have a big fat F rating with the BBB.

My heart goes out to you, GUEST. ALOT of people, on this forum, have been 'blind-sided' by so-called Debt Consolidation/Settlement companies. I lost a bit of money, myself, with one of these 'experts'. I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. Things WILL get better, trust me on that one. People, on this forum, can give you great advice on how to handle this.
