A stop payment is good for six months only. Not to forget, bank will charge a fee for it. Usually, it's $30.

Tammy, I will say that you should stand strong and know how you need to deal with pdls. Many here are in similar situations and few have been successful in coming out of this trap. You will also get through.

What state are you in? You need to check if the IPDL is licensed in your state and that their business is legitimate. Go through the laws in your state and calculate the total payments done so far. You will know the status and then move from there.
