Collection Letter

:mad: I received a letter from Convergent Outsourcing stating that their client, Pinnacle Credit Services (original creditor,Verizon Wireless) shows a past due balance of $594.91 on my account and is willing to accept 50%, or $297.46, to resolve my account. I just spoke with Verizon and they state that I am not owing, nor have I ever owed, this amount. I feel this must be a scam and will be calling them on Monday to let them know that I will be contacting the proper authorities. I have good credit and do not appreciate these kinds of letters.

It may or may not be a scam. It could be a case of lousy skip tracing and they have sent you a letter for a person by the same name. Mail them a cease and desist letter, that you are the wrong party.
