Not sure I understand what the counselors do at debt cc

If I have a consultation with one of the counselors on the site and I want to consolidate and settle my debt, do they recommend a company and what fees am I paying to them to do this?

I believe they give you a few suggestions of places that work in or around your state that can help you. But like Kash said the consultation is free. Just make sure that you check out any company you hire through the bbb to make sure that they are in good standing.
