Help with Court summons

If you have been sent summons for a debt, however it is from Asset, not the original company, can i contact original company and try to pay them instead?

It would depend on whether the debt was purchased by Asset or if they are acting on behalf of the original creditor. It is most likely that they purchased it! Do not ignore the summons! Try to reach a settlement as they only pay pennies on the dollar!
