I have been in debt consolidation for 15 months and have had several accounts settled. Now I have been served a summons, that was filed with the county clerks offices. Here is Idaho, what I do not understand is, this summons is from Capital one, they have already excepted settlements on two of my larger accounts,I had with them but now they are taking me to court. Can someone tell me why they would settle on two and not all three?

It is not unusual for the creditors to sue a customer even when settlement negotiation is going on. You may inform the settlement company immediately about the summons.

Meanwhile, you may prepare your response for the summons as well. If a settlement negotiation is going on for the account, you may put that in your defence.
