I want to opt for credit card settlement. By researching on the optins, I've found that one can take help from a settlement company or choose DIY option. But, my question is, is it the best way to settle credit card debts yourself that is, the DIY method ot professional help is better?

Both DIY and professional debt settlement methods are good. But, I would suggest you to take help from the professionals such as a debt settlement company. Since, they know the game better than you. Make sure to check the authenticity of the company before taking help from it.

You can opt for a settlement company since they're better to deal with the matter professionally. However, you'll have to pay the fees for professional help. If you opt for DIY method, you can save the money. So, assess the advantages and disadvantages and then decide which option works best for you.

It depends on the amounts of debt you are in. If it is a large amount and you can't manage the creditors then you should go visit a debt consultant.

NON PROFIT CONSUMER CREDIT COUNCELLING SERVICE. Google it. The fees are generally paid by the creditor or at the least the majority of the fees.

Taking the help of concerned professionals will be more useful than DIY. Sometimes in the later procedure, you may get confused on some technical matter, where as if you will take the help of concerned professionals they'll pursue your case with your creditors in a more professional manner and are able to negotiate well on your behalf.

If you can negotiate well and have good knowledge of the legalities involved, then you may do it yourself. And if you cant, its better to take professional help.
