I was hoping someone could give me advice....I am starting to fall behind on my min cc payments. I have not been able to work full time because of illness. I owe about 10,000 to a total of 4 companies. I am getting married next year and want to figure out what to do before I get so upside down I can’t get out. If I settle will it affect my credit the same as if I consolidate...or is it a lot worse? Also if my soon to be husband has good credit and I have bad credit when we get married will it affect him if we don’t have joint accounts? Any help would really be appreciated

Consolidation is a better option over settlement. The settlement plan will be lower from consolidation but if you can afford paying through consolidation, it will be helpful for your credit. Your accounts will be paid through the program.

If you open joint accounts with your husband after marriage and not maintain it properly, it is going to make a negative impact on the credit of both of you.
