A couple of questions regarding charged-offs of debt.If the credit report reflects a charge-off, is the debt still owed? If so, do you work with the creditor or the collection agency that may have purchased the debt?

Charge off is simply an accounting term...your debt is moved from the good books to the bad books. Yes you still owe it.
If the account has been assigned to collection agency, you must work with the CA. If it has been sold to a CA, you must work with the CA.
