I've been enrolled into creditsolutions.com debt settlement program for over the past 2 months. I have recently uncovered some complaints regarding the legitimacy of their service. I am unsure if my choice of debt settlement agency was wrong or if I am on the right track to financial settelement. Can you help?

Is there any way of getting out of a contract with Credit Solutions of America? I thought I had done my homework but now after reading more, I am so worried. I would rather negotiate with my creditors myself!!

They are a HUGE scam. I was with this company, they took me for thousands of Dollars. and they are NOT in good standings either with the BBB.........BBB said to call the States Attorneys office .
States Attorneys office has over 15 thousands complaints from Credit Solutions and they are coming by the hundreds daily.
I was advised to run from credit solution and demand some sort of a full or partical refund from credit solution. cas most wont recieve one. but I was lucky to recieve some sort of settlement inreturn. but credit solution left me close to 50k in debt and in bad standings with all 3 credit breaus for 7 years.
Credit Solution has been reported to the states attorneys office & also to Texas police Dept.
Credit Solution moved their office, tryin to stay local but constantly moving after so many complaints........
if you have a fiancial problems...........go thru a REAL ATTORNEYS OFFICE and they will glide you the right way to correct your fiancial problems to a better solution to living a better life & not in debt with a bad name for yrs .
ALSO MY CHILDREN SUFFERED BADLY FROM THIS..........AND THIS IS A COMPANY THEY SAY WILL HELP GET YOU OUT OF DEBIT SO YOU CAN LIVE BETTER WITH YOUR FAMILY?
CREDIT SOLUTION TOOK FOOD OUT OF MY CHILDRENS MOUTH, BY DOING WHAT THEY DO TO THEIR CLIENTS, FUKIN EM OVER.
CREDIT SOLUTIONS........ THESE WORDS R FOR YOU..........GOD WILL JUDGE YOU IN THE END AND WHAT YOU DID TO HONEST FAMILIES AND THEIR CHILDREN.

I have read all the posts on here and I just want to make some serious points here on things that have been said.
First and foremost Discover WILL NOT sue you as soon as they find out you have sought out the assistance of a settlement company. THAT IS AN OUTRIGHT FALSE STATEMENT! There is so much more that a creditor looks for before they sue you and believe me when I say being involved in a settlement company is NOT the end all be all of taking legal action.
Second thing is that settlement companies do not request that your mail be sent to them nor do they give them their number to replace yours. With a power of attorney the creditor could decide to contact the settlement company which is what you want to happen.
Next is that the statement made about the fact you would be sued and NOT know is just ridiculous. Clearly Gab you don't know how the legal process works. YOU WOULD BE SERVED AT YOUR RESIDENCE WITH AN INITIAL COMPLAINT.
I have no tie to this company that is being discussed on this particular blog but the accusations being made are totally false when speaking of how settlement companies work. If you have been sued and your settlement company isn't contacting you then that is wrong. They should be contacting you with the offers on the table. Please take it from me since I have many years behind me in the settlement industry. I am not out for any gain by sharing the information with you. If you have questions I suggest speaking to the company you are with. They are there for you.

If an account is with a law firm collection company (Zwicker and Assoc.) representing say "Discover Card" and I have the account with CS and CS is telling me that Zwicker won't settle for less than 80% of what I owe ($2574.99) after paying off half of the amount ($2354) I originally enrolled in CS for ($4929). How do I work with Zwicker myself to get this account lowered to less than the total of 80% that they say they will accept? CS is telling me that Zwicker says that Discover Card will not accept anything less than 80% of what I owe now, even though I have paid almost half of what I owe already. Don't ever sign anything with CS. I already paid off 1 account with CS that had gone to another law collection agency.

ok, I finally got through all four pages of this post! after reading this I hope no one joins this company. And for further reference there is a post I just responded to were a class action lawsuit is underway. right now its the first post of the debt settlement catagory.

second, This is absolutely not true about discover card I went through a settlement company and discover was one of my best settlements. 1,000 on a 5,000 debt. within 1 year. No judgement or lawsuit.

third, did you see that bbb report! OMG! stay clear.

And last of all the company I used does post thier monthly statistics how much, and how many they settled, outstanding, and $ amount. I have been adding the posts to my blog monthly.

If I were you I would join this class action lawsuit and sue the pants off these people its time to show these people (scam artist rather) that it will not be tolerated

Exactly, that doesnt mean they still cant screw people. I agree that i feel that maybe some "guests" are employees anyone with a brain can see that this company are rip offs. It is black and white here not shades of grey. Usually from what i see most settlement companies even the good ones do have a few complains3-5 or so and they are resolved. This company has so many that its unbelieveable! give them a break? what about the people that trusted them to give them a break? They are liers! They flat out lied, not stretched the truth or anything they lied about being a member of BBB, and what makes anyone think that they would not lie to them about thier accounts? They cant be trusted, move on and find a better one. There are better settlement companies out there that will give you the flat out honest truth and this is what you need when choosing if settlement is right for you. Not someone blowing smoke making it seem like a vacation away from debt. debt settlement is hard i dont care if you do it alone or with a company, a company may make it easier, but it is still far from easy. People need to know the facts, not bs and lies to get them to join thier program.

from personal experience mycreditgroup is a waste of time and money. they will drag out the process and bill you for as much as they can. No customer service, if you do some research their is even a review from one of their employees saying how they work and to stay away.

I think companies like this one cause good settlement companies to have a bad name. look there are good settlement companies out there you just need to take the time to find them and ask the right questions. All settlement companies that are good should be upfront and honest. But in the end, they really cannot promise you anything only what is likely to happen. Dont give up on finding a good settlement company, they are out there (ask me i know!) Good luck!

i just cant understand how people are signing up with these companies and not researching them first! This is so important. and if you search this company this post does come up so are people this trustworthy?

SCAM is screamming all over the internet and tv, why wouldnt you take the extra day or even a week to find out about the company? your debt is not going anywere and as for this poor person above is now in really big trouble. NOt only are you loosing your money if you pick a bad company you are loosing time which is crucial during settlement. The ultimate goal is to settle and settle fast before you get sued. Its a time game. The longer time goes on the more likely you are to get sued.

Call BBB of Dallas, Texas.. I did and they will tell you in detail how false this company is. They started in 2003 and have over 1000 complaints already and over 500 still unresolved. Your credit will actually get worse..

I've been trying to get back my money from Credit Solutions for the past 3 months. I signed up with them and a day after I visited this site for the first time and realized what a mistake I had made. I cancelled immediately and was told that no monies would be withdrawn from my bank account, but they did. They took out $300 that I'm still fighting to get back. I've called them and wrote to them many times and nothing. Besides reporting them to the BBB, what else can I do?

Credit solutions is a legitimate company. The number one thing you have to remember is to do exactly what they ask of you while enrolling. I have been with them a little over a year and I tell you that have save me. I haven't completed the program yet but I am halfway there! They're not like these other companies who are really scam artist. They act as if they are working with the creditors.
First things first you have to realize your debt has to be deliquent to even be considered for a settlment. You can't get a settlement on a current active account, they want the full balance. Remember your having issues with paying the card off so letting the account go deliquent should not be an issue.

Yep. State Attorneys General (in the case of Credit Solutions, 3 of them) always sue legitimate companies, right?

"Claims of 'Becoming Debt-Free' Fall Flat for Consumers"
"Some Credit Solutions of America's Clients Say Bills Grew Instead of Shrank"

But of course, it is to be noted that this company is apparently the largest Debt Settlement company in the nation. And it is also to be noted that these complaints are pretty standard across the entire industry.

Just wanted to let everyone know our story, it may help you , even though we are current on our credit cards we have a high debt ratio so they have all wracked up our interest rates to 19 & 25% -Bank America & Discover! Talked to a representative from both companies about a hardship program because work is now slow , we now pay 3% & 5% and lowered our payments a few hundred dollars a month!! Do it yourself, do not go to credit card services, why trust a stranger to what you can do yourself. Be truthful, reasonable and let your Yes mean Yes and No mean No. Call Your companies!

I just talked to creditsolutions.com and I don't trust them. 2 years ago I got ripped off by Consumers Law Center, in Coral Springs, Florida. The attorney general in fa is on top of them and I hope I get my $ back. They scamed 20,000 people. CreditSolutions wanted me to do the same thing that C.L. said to do. Don't default on your payments to your credit cardsl, my credit is ruined. Why do the banks get bailed out with stimulas and we that have been scamed get nothing? Go figure, its all about the gov. and who or what you are.

$14,000. For $40,000. Debt. I escaped!!!!! Beware of fast-talking chris. You might talk with mmi money mgmt intern'l (they declare themselves non-profit).
I talked with their credit counselling dept. Yesterday.

I saw an online ad about debt settlement. it was from Creditsolutions.com I called in and talked to a real nice guy who gave me the run down on the system. I wasn't intending to make a decision right then and there and I told him that. He said that I could wait and let him know next week if I want to go ahead or not... and he set me up with an account on their website.
The website is very slick and nicely done.
However, as I reviewed the paperwork more and more, my wife and I went online and decided to see some reviews of creditsolutions.com. A simple google search brought us to a site were we saw a lot of negative feelings. The reports seemed genuine. While there were some positive reports, the positive folks didn't seem to have been in the program for very long. One guy had been in for 13 months but only settled one account... so he/she prob didn't have the IRS earned income problem that others reported.
Truth be told, Creditsolutions.com did mention that any money you save through their system may be considered Earned Income by the IRS. However the representative didn't go into details nor disclose how much of an impact that would be. I read on here one fellow had all his accounts settled then the IRS came after him and now he owes them all that money saved. he just traded one lender for another.
After reading these reviews, I checked the BBB - and they rated Credit Solutions with an F. So I email them I want to cancel. I get an email on Saturday from Credit Solutions that says "Call us now to process your request" I call in to cancel. It may be a good system, but I'm not comfortable with a company with a rating of F with the BBB. I call on a Saturday and talk to a woman who decides she needs to save me from leaving. She argues, argues and argues. She even gets rude and obnoxious. Basically her point is, "we're not part of the BBB system, so when people complain our expert customer service handles it outside of the BBB - so the BBB will give us an F because we don't do the arbitration with them." I didn't buy it. As for the negative complaints around the internet about CreditSolutions.com? She says, "they are ignorant people who don't know how this works." While she may have had some good points, she lost me with her rudeness, ego and hostility. When I made a couple comments she got rude and obnoxious. Really hostile and combative. At this point I had to just interrupt her and go "hey hey hey... just close the account already."
Finally she says, "I can't do that. You'll have to wait till Monday."
so she wasted my time, and was combative and rude to me. I called in on Monday and talked to another person... who basically forwarded me to an account specialist. Basically someone trying to keep you from canceling. He gives me the big show. How great his company is. Everyone else is peanuts compared to Credit Solutions. No one else compares.... it's so over the top it has to be false. Their ego is just too big. He goes on and on about how the BBB isn't relevant and reiterates what the lady said a couple days prior. After he talks he wants to know if I agree with him, i say I don't and that I did find a debt settlement company that had a A- rating with the BBB... he got quiet. I mentioned I still want to leave.
He then asks the typical, "what will you do with your debt situation without us?" I reply it's not his concern... and he puts me on hold. He comes back to throw a jab about how there are big companies like walmart, and small peanut companies that try to compete... and how no one can really compete with a giant like walmart (i.e. Credit Solutions is the walmart of debt settlement.)
Here I'm thinking, if your so damn big why is it so important for you to retain a single customer? If I want to close an account with walmart they don't try this hard to retain me. They don't care. because they're so big.
My gut feeling with this company is:
a) they may do what they say
b) their egos are huge
c) customer service is a crap shoot. you can get a nice guy, or a hostile employee
d) they are desperate to retain customers - which means to me, they are small timers
e) if another debt settlement company can get an A- rating with the BBB then they could to. saying "we're not BBB certified" isn't an answer... as they should be able to get certified! Esp. if others have done it.
f) I wasn't "impressed with their amazing customer service" since I was treated with hostility and rudeness by one employee and over ego by the last one I talked with.
All of the above makes me nervous to use this company. If it is a legit and great opp. then i'm passing on it for the reasons above.
Thing is, why should it be so hard to leave? why do they make you jump through 3 hoops just to get out? It's like trying to quite a cable company. You can quit, you just have to be persistent, they will argue with you and challenge anything you believe or have read elsewhere. That in itself turns me off their company.

I was acutally an employ with Credit Solutions until up to 1 month ago.

As an employ my opinion would be NEVER EVER use them as your credit Solutions.

I was treated like a dog and never appreciated for the work I did, I,m located in Costa Rica and will never work for them again or recommend people to use them.

I recently enrolled with CS. Being new to being over my head in debt, I jumped for the first company that seemed like they would be able to help me. I did not like the part about letting my bills laspe until they were "old", but their explanation seemed to make sense. However, I am very wary now. I decided to check the BBB reports about them, and of course they were not a member. I called CS and asked them about that and I was told that they CS were in a class all by themselves and so they could not be a member because they could not be compared to anyone else. I said "wow". Any way, I too was looking for the positive comments about the co. Thet were as scarse as hair on an egg. (so to speak).I prayed and asked the Lord to help me and give me some insight as to what to do. I believe He did. I am going to cancel, call my creditors, and try to set up something with them.

Credit Solution was a !NIGHTMARE! I have been enrolled my debt account with them more than 12 months and they didn't negociate or get a good settlement offer with the collection agencies. After all this wasted time and money with them I was obligated to pay almost the full amount of my debt. Don't waste your time and your money, BEWARE about fraudulents companies like Credit Solutions.

My debt was about 14K and at the end paid 12K including credit solutions high FEES.
My wife her debt was 30K and she didn't consolidate with CREDIT SOLUTION she only made one phone call to her Bank for consolidate by herself, she negociate and get 80% descount on her debt thats mean, my wife's debt was to much high than mine and she get the best offer directly with the Bank. So people LOOK! don't let you fool by fraudulent consolidate companies, they are "BLOOD SUCKERS"... So just give you a chance to DO IT by YOURSELF, as my wife she save a lot of money and time and all by one phone call to her bank.

I hope this can help to open eyes and don't let us fool by DISHONEST CONSOLIDATE COMPANIES.

Good Luck !

Lets see... How many people who completed their program are going to get online, go to a website that is known for complaints, and post positive feedback? Why don't you research "How debt settlement works" Most of your complaints are, " I read negative comments online so I quit" Their program is 36 months. not 3 months. You are all Sheep! Bahhhh! I saw this on tv, I read a blog, I heard this on the news radio this morning. IT IS ALL PROPAGANDA.......You are the same guy that signed a contract allowing the creditor to charge you 29%!

I am very happy with how Credit Solutions handled my account. They were able to negotiate my pay off with my 2 credit cards that I only ended up paying less than 50% of total debt. This path might not be the right one, but I was desparate and they were the life boat I needed.

I am currently working with Eagle One Debt Solutions, which I am finding out about they are taking money and putting into a escrow account, and I am still getting calls from the from the banks because nothing has been settled.. Now the banks want me to settle on 50 cents on the dollar.. I don't have that kind of money. What is a person to do? I really fill cheated because they are charging alot of money to do this and the company has done nothing to help resolve this problem...

I've had their service for 2 years now. They deduct only their payment from your account and while they were doing that they constantly called with settlement offers that I could not take because of the lack of funds. They tell you that you can put away which ever amount seems reasonable for them to sell you on it but that's not the way it works. The terms are usually for an initial payment much higher than what you've managed to save. The fact that more than one debtor is giving you settlement offers would force you to decline because you can't accept all of them due to lack of funds. And then it's been a year and credit solutions has been paid in full. After that, everything stopped. No more emails, no more calls with settlement offers. I logged into their site and nothing. From the 7 accounts that I enrolled into their program, I was able to settle on 3. I get furious every time I remember how they were already paid for their services and I'm still in debt. If you're going to deal with a debt company, you should find one that puts your money into an escrow account. Creditsolutions.com sucks

WORST DEBT SETTLEMENT COMPANY EVER!
You can do everything they can do yourself. You pay them about 5% of your total debt in fees and they just sit on their asses and wait for you to call them about a bank hassling you for payment. They call the bank and the bank offers the same settlement offer they would offer you. You are paying them to be the middle man and it's unnecessary. Save your money on the settlement. THIS IS NOT WORTH IT.
