I give up. I can't do this. I just got off the phone with GFS for the sixth time in two days, they originally made an agreement to settle for $200 to be sent by Cashier's Check. But I couldn't get anything in writing besides a settlement for $200 debit from my checking account. Now, the last time I called, they've told me that the $200 wouldn't even close my account and apparently the first five people I spoke with were lying to me. I spoke with a lawyer, he says he can't help. Pretty soon my other two loans will start calling me, I have no options. I can't get anything in writing so I've got no bridge to walk on. I filed bankruptcy last year so THAT isn't even an option. From everything I've read the Credit Counselor people can't work with GFS either, so basically everyone on the planet is at the mercy of these thieves. I'm losing my sanity and pretty soon I might be losing more than that (my job, my family...) all because I couldn't pay a few bills on time. If I had a dollar for everytime I've made a horribly stupid decision in my life, let's just say I wouldn't be in this predicament.

I know you must be very frustrated right now. GFS are just giving you the run around and stressing you out. Have you talked to a credit counselor yet? I am in a similar situation with a company like the one you're dealing with, and my debt consolidation/settlement counselor told me to ignore the company, they'll deal with them. The pdl tells you this stuff to try and get more money from you than you really owe, and to scare you, don't let them accomplish that. I know it's hard not to, though.

I didn't want to talk to a debt counselor because I want to keep my credit card. I'll have plenty of money come October, so maybe if I open a Savings account solely to pay off payday loans, I can get a settlement in writing that will work, or perhaps I'll be forced to just pay them in full. I don't know, at this point, nothing seems to sound like a very good idea or one that will even satisfy the situation. I won't really have the money until October, so it might just be best for me to just avoid them until then, but I know they will just keep calling me non-stop. They'll call my boss, they'll call my parents, they'll call my friends that were listed as references. They'll call everyone, and I know they'll feed them full of baloney, and the shame of that will be more than anything I can comprehend. It just seems completely unescapable.

You are free to choose any accounts in the consolidation plan. Your credit cards won't be affected if you are consolidating the payday loans. What is worrying you on that? Do you want to talk about this?

Don't let the loan companies harass you on weak reasons. You still have options to pay off your debts. Just look around and talk with us :)

Polly I have used your letter and got no response from them at all the last time i called them to make sure they made note of the letter I sent them they said they had not gotten it and of course the same ol BS about me getting court papers and If I knew they were out of the Country why did I take the loan, Well I really didnt know they were in the UK at the time only after trying to get a address for them it was a 200 loan and they are telling me know it is over 500 I am calling T & C today to tell them to mark the account down to what i actually owe them according to the laws here and that is all they will get out of me I have paid them already $155 so the way I see it is that I only owe them like 80 dollars!
They are not fun to deal with but then again neither is CTC or GECC as well

I just sent my monet to T & C today and I have a loan with GFS. I asked T&C if I should just pay the difficult ones off so they won't be coming after me. They say not to but then again, they are not getting the harassing telephone calls, we are! My loan just went default with them on Thursday. I called them to talk about it and they said I had to call back. I think that I am going to just pay them off in full and not include them in my plan. I know that I can't deal with those people and it is probably just easier to get away from them completely!

Have they begin calling your job and your references? How long ago did you go in default with them?
