I'm trying to find a debt consolidation loan to help pay my debts off once and for all, but it seems like getting one requires good credit.
Isn't that a catch-22? If I had good credit and could afford to pay off my nightmarish debt, I probably wouldn't need a debt consolidation loan.
How is that you need good credit to clean up your bad credit?

Your credit should not be a factor in getting a debt consolidation loan. But most companies will ask for some collateral as security. Shop with different companies and see who can fit well in your situation.
