Hello, I am so glad to have found this forum. It seems to be very active, with information people involved from just reading some of the post.

I have to be honest...this is my first step at revealing who I am as a person "financially." I hope not to be judge but sincerely helped with my situation and goal of getting out of debt, and becoming debt free.

I am 36 years old, and grew up in a family where no financial discipline was learned. As I aged, and got married etc...I just didn't pay my bills. I never was told that when you don't pay your bills that bill goes into collections and "people began to call wanting their money". Or that it would affect me being able to write checks and or bank at a bank, or taxes being taken.

With that, I am in my current state of trama, where I am no longer married, and a single mom, desiring to correct my wrong, but all my debt has tripled. Once Payday loans came into affect...I got deeper in debt.

I am really an elementary learner at this point. I just need good direction if at all possible. I would like to be a home owner one day...so what direction should I take in order to meet that goal once debt is paid off? For example: I hear filing for bankrupcy is not good becuase that haunts you as well.

All of my debt is in collections! I have medical bills, electronic bills (cell phone accounts), cable (account) Video store rental account, and payday loans.

My total debt according to last credit report pulled was $8,000.

My current monthly take home income is $2400.

My monthly expenses currently include:
Rent $1,0000
PGE $100.00
Phone & Cell $80.00
Gas $170.00
Food $170.00
Prescription: average $40.00

I think my problem is "Managaing my money". I pay these bills monthly, but I can't find a way to organize my bills (debt) to re-pay the companies that are calling for a payment.

When I was married my husband paid all the bills and I used my paycheck to "do with it what I wanted", now that he's not apart of my life, I don't know how.

Please help me. This is a new year and I am determinded to do the right thing, I just need a support group or person, who will work and help me to see my way through this very difficult time.

I'm tired of the collections people calling me at work and home and everyday. I just want to be able to pay an amount to all of them respectfully and know that I am on the road to recovery, and then start the next step which would be rebuilding my credit.

So for the long info, just wanted to try and get everthing out there.

Thanks

How much you have paid each one and the original amount borrowed.
Also what state do you live in?

Looking at your expenses you are living within your means when it comes to necessities. I think your food bill is very conservative. What about car insurance and cable. Stop renting videos. Do you smoke, or go out to bars at night. I am not insinuating anything but I was divorced myself and spent a bundle on nightlife.

Hi Thank you frog patch for you feedback. when I signed up...no I did not "see" that section for Free Consultaion. Regarding the payday loans, I will get that information to you, but please allow my a day or so to retrive the contracts etc. I can for certain tell you that are internet based and in California...but will make sure. When I was married and I just spent money...on anyone, anything, and took several trips. Since my seperation, I started going to gaming places and that has not be a good thing.

I am needing help to correct my wrongs and make a new start.

Miracle...you have a support network in our community. :D Many of us have been there, done that, or are dealing with it right now.

Call 800-601-1579 for a free consultation...might help you feel a bit more relieved to talk to someone live.

I am also in California...please do come back with your pay day loan info.

I've been telling people to sign up with Credit Card Zappers.

I've been with them for 2 months. First month they reversed my VISA interest of $64 and an overlimit fee of $39.

Next month they had my interest charges of $66 reversed.

Don't know how they do it, but they are the only company I've found who takes these fees off.

Hello all, ok...this is certainly goig to take a lot of work!!!!! I can't believe how much of a "I don't care attitude" I've had for so many years regarding my credit, and repaying. With that said, this is embarrassing.

I went home last night and tried finding the contracts that I had from each payday loan company and that was not successful, I even looked on my computer and they were no longer there, I must have deleted. At any rate, I do have the company names and the balance amounts that are now due, and I am pretty sure that each one I borrowed $300- $600. I was paying them consisantly but started having financial problems this pass Aug when I had surgery and was off of work for a while.

Here are the list of Payday loans I am currently aware of:

One Click Cash - Internet based - Balance $145.00
500 Fast Cash - Internet Based- Balance $460.00
Purpose Loans - Internet Based - Balance $268.00

Most of these have offered a settlement....should I take it? What dooes that do to my credit or credit rating?

I am also pulling together my creditors so I can utilize the consultation service.

Thanks, let me know what else I need to do to keep this momentum flowing.

Hello Miracle - I would first take the consultation before doing anything, talk to them first, and they may be able to refer you to someone in your area - like a credit counseling company. Some of these companies offer help on getting your debts straighted out as well as personal finance classes so you can start educating yourself. That's the most important, read and education on how to handle your finances. Let us know how your consultation goes and then we can assist more!

Thanks to everyone that responded to my post. Just wanted to let you know how excited I was to go throught the debt consultation portion of giving them all my debt (collections etc). Just to see a total come up at the bottom of the page, and read all the different options I can think about pursing to become debt free....WOW IT FEELS SO GOOD, just to have accomplished that!!! I have never done that before, it didn't matter to me. But now, I feel like a person who is on the road to financial healing.

I still have not made the personal one-one phone call to speak with someone live, as I am working and going to school at night, but will try to make contact on Friday. Thanks all, I hope to share more good news, and hope not to become boresome to all.

I'm just really glad to have found this website/forum.

Blessing to all!!
