I was told I owed money for a debt collector fee by a community. They sent me to collections in January no one ever contacted me about any balance.(and I had paid the dues in full) I only found out because I called and asked what the association fess were this year. They said "I was late it was due last week and they have no oblgation to send a bill, it's up to the Property owner to know how much to pay and what the due date is. I was two weeks late on 750.00 they charged me 84.00 in late fees and interest. Thats when they imformed me I owe 250.00 That they paid a collection agency and told me to call the lawyer who claims the only reason I paid was because he sent me a letter on fri jan 6 my check cleared on mon jan 9. The agency will not return my calls. I have nothing in writing no one has ever called.
