I received a notice to come to court because a law firm is seeking to garnish my pension wages for a credit card debt that is 8 years old. They informed me that they obtained a 20 year judgement against me back in 2004 for this debt. The original default amount is $2600. Now they want $5800 or they will settle for $4600 to be paid with a $1500 down and $250 per month. Can they acutally garnish my pension?
