I had included my son in my credit card account as the authorized user. He is out of college. He is searching for a good job in Malibu, CA. I’m on a hardship plan right now. However, this account is appearing on my son’s credit report as 90 days late. He is not responsible for the debt. I have removed him from the account. But the account is still there on his credit report. His credit score also has dropped. Apparently, the credit card company can’t do anything. What should I do?

It may take awhile for it to cycle thru the credit card companies reporting...how long ago did you take him off?? He can also dispute it with the credit bureaus.

The credit card company is handing a pile of crap....off course they can do something about it.

I had my children as authorized users and when I defaulted, their credit suffered. I wrote a letter to the Assistant to the CEO of Bank of America requesting that they remove them. Also had the kids dispute it online with the credit bureaus. They were finally removed. My daughter's ex husband secured a credit card in her name. She disputed it by requesting a copy of the application, etc. and it was removed. Authorized users are not responsible for the debt. I would add to the letters/disputes that it is ruining his credit.
