you do not need a license to do debt settlement, you can get one but you do not need one.

the problem with getting a license is that the company cant collect a single fee till the person is more than 50% out of debt, this sounds great for someone seeking debt help i know, but the fact is there is no way a company could survive while having this as a rule, given if youve been open for many years and have a steady flow of funds coming in you could go this route, most dont.

there is however certain states that you as a debtor can not use a settlement company or get debt assistance.

theses are the states: Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Vermont, North & South Carolina, Idaho, Virginia, West virginia, Wisconsin & Wyoming
