My questions, is how long does settlements stay on your credit report?
And how bad does it effect your credt?

Debt settlements will cling on your credit report for 7 long years. Your credit report will show the accounts you settled as 'settled' or 'settled in full'. It's better that you negotiate with your creditors to report your account as 'paid in full' or 'paid' after the account is settled. It'll help you to lessen the negative impact of the settlement process.

You can improve your credit score after the settlement process with timely payments of all your debt accounts.
