I want to know what is the process of getting enrolled in a settlement program. How long does it take?

Hi,

Enrolling in a debt settlement program is suitable for you when

a. you can't afford to pay your debts.
b. You have been defaulted on your payments for at least 3 months.
c. You want to pay back to your creditor and prevent your accounts from being transferred to collections.

The process is simple. You need to call a professional debt settlement service provider company and provide your Email and contact details. The debt settlement company will assign an associate who will contact you. The person will sign you up for the debt settlement program and gather required information about your credit accounts that need to be settled. The settlement program may also require you to sign a power of attorney so that the debt settlement company may negotiate with your creditors on your behalf, and give you the best settlement possible.

It'll take a very little time to enroll in the program but will take a decent time to settle all of your debts depending on the total debt amount and number of credit accounts.

Yes, usually it doesn't take much time to get enrolled in a debt settlement program. And, nowadays, you don't have to visit the company; only a call is enough to start the process.

Adding some points here to Barbara's:

d. Look for the most respected debt settlement company in your area
e. Ask for references or check BBB's rating online
f. Verify a company's credentials before signing up
