We have been in a debt settlement program since May of 2007 and have settled 2 accounts with 5 to go. I am concerned because we are running out of settlement money and our credit is totally trashed right now. Can you enter into a debt consolidation program if your accounts are in collections and will we be able to get out of our debt settlement agreement?

I was in a debt settlement program also and got out with a refund, but every company is different and I guess it would depend on what your contract says.
