Any recent experience negotiating with these PDL companies?

They're all storefront Payday Loan Places in AZ.
Also should I stagger these or should I do them all at once?
I'm due next friday-should I start calling now?
I'm opening a new checking account at our credit union tomorrow. I have to keep my bank account open for a while because my IRS check is being direct deposited in a couple of weeks.
I'm going to try to do this on my own before going to a debt consolidation company. Langhorne doesn't do storefront PDL's and the other company I called said they don't always have success. I still can't find a number for T&C.
I think I might start a blog on all this. I'm sure the good bad and ugly will be entertaining...
Anyway, here's the names of the comanies. I'd like some insight on what to expect.
Advance America
Check and Go
Loan Mart
Allied Cash Express
Speedy Cash
Checksmart
Checkmate
Cash1 LLC
ACE Cash Express
Sorry about the multiple threads. I just want as much info as possible before I proceed to the dark side. Or out of the dark side :?

All I know about is Advance America, they will not set up payment arrangements before your check comes back NSF but do tell them that is going to happen and once it does the interest will stop and any payments made will go towards paying off the loan and not interest. But be careful with having your taxes deposited into an account that you will have NSF payday loans out on because they WILL take it from you. I had that happen, i had payment arrangements made through The Cash Store and then I was checking my bank account to see if the deposit was made and on the same day the deposit was made they took out an ACH for the entire NSF check for the payday loan. So when I contacted the store they said they had to check your account to see if any money was deposited and if it was enough they would take it out then mail you a refund of any payments made to them over what you owed. So it took me 33 days to get a refund of payments made to the cash store after they took out the check from my tax refund. Contact your payloan lenders and let them know your situation and they may be willing to work with you. Check n go won't accept partial payments, after your check goes back to them nsf they will keep it in the store for about 60-90 days before they send it to the corp. office then they will contact you once more before they send it to an outside collection agency (found this out from a friend) So you have time to work with them.

That's great info!
I'll be moving my payroll direct deposit to my regular account. There's nothing I can do about the tax check and I was going to pay 2 of those off with it anyway.

So should I stagger these?
I was thinking of calling 2 of the companies and asking if they could wait until I get my tax check-then I could pay in full.
By then my DD should be going into the new account and I can start dealing with the others. But I was thinking of letting them go 2 at a time.
Good idea?

Are these all storefront lenders? I've only heard of a couple of them. I dealt with internet lenders when I was digging myself out of my own pdl trap last winter. I would deal with what you can afford right now.
They're all store front. I do a LOT of driving on payday.
They're all store front.
I do a LOT of driving on payday.
I always get a lot of internet offers in my spam box but I've never trusted putting my bank info on the internet so I never took one out.
I did get a call from Consumer credit counseling of America-referred when I signed up for this site-but when I did a search here nobody had anything good to say about them so I'm not calling them back.
I hear ya about driving ALOT on payday. Just call the companies
I hear ya about driving ALOT on payday. Just call the companies and explain your situation but be honest with them. I did with advance and they are currently accepting $25 per week each on the 2 loans we have with them. It started out as $50 but when I called to tell them that I got laid off and I have to reduce the payment to $25 they were ok with that as long as I came in every week (I get paid weekly) right now I am down to $397 on 1 loan and that one started out at over $1000/with nsf and return check fees added in. You can also call the companies and ask what they do if the check comes back nsf or account closed. That will give you and idea of what your options are.
Definitely try to set up payment arrangements with the storefron
Definitely try to set up payment arrangements with the storefront lenders if you can. Since most storefront lenders are pretty careful about following the laws of the state they do business in, they don't hesitate to pursue legal action against you if you don't pay them. Keep in contact with them, make payment arrangments and keep them, and you should be PDL-free-and-clear soon! :-)

God I hope so!
I should be able to get 3 of them paid off in full next week with my tax check. Then I'll deal with the others.
I was trying to figure out who was more hard-core.
All I have to say is never again!!!
Kristi, I'm glad that you will be able to get three paid off
Kristi,
I'm glad that you will be able to get three paid off next week. Think of the money that you will save in gas alone ! I didn't have storefront lenders, I had all internet lenders. I've heard the store fronts are more willing to work with you though. How many will that leave you?

I think what I'm going through now and what I'm about to go through will be a reminder never to set foot in one of those places again!
well, that's half the battle, Kristi! Knowing what you know now
well, that's half the battle, Kristi! Knowing what you know now, you can honestly say to yourself "never again", and mean it!
You'll be able to get through this - call them and make payment arrangements with them. The ones that give you a hard time about payment arrangements - well, those are the ones you pay off first, with your tax check, as you mentioned. Then do payment arrangements with the ones that are more reasonable to work with.
