Debt Consolidation for credit cards, personal loans

I need to consolidate my debts (credit cards, personal loans, etc.) but I also need money to tide me over until I get off of maternity leave (4 weeks). My question is - can I get extra money with these consolidation loans?
I don't think that you can as they are intended to pay off debts
I don't think that you can as they are intended to pay off debts but if you have collateral it may be possible. Ask your loan officer.
