I'm dealing with Chase credit card and I thought they were doing better. I spoke to them yesterday and explained I was having some issues and they seemed understanding. I made a small payment of 35.00 and told them I would pay the rest next week which seemed ok with them. I logged into my account this morning to notice after I made the 35.00 payment they added a 35.00 late fee. It seems I'm never going to get ahead if they keep adding their fees on. I'm considering doing a credit counseling service does anyone know if Chase is good about working with those? So, I can get some of the fees reduced.

Thanks,
Johnita

johnita I've worked with a Credit Councilling Service before with very good results. I would definitely recommend that. You might also call Chase and ask them to waive that late charge, all they can say is no, and the sooner you call about it and let them know you are aware, the more likely they will do that for you. :)

Also you can check out with the services offered by this site. You can enroll yourself for the free financial consultation to check what they have to offer. They might even help you to negotiate with your creditors.

However, before looking for any professional help, give it a try yourself. Talk to chase and request them to waive the late charges.

Hello oteng mashaba, I am sorry to hear of your hardship. Since I don't know the details of your problem it's hard for me to elaborate in length. The only advice I can give you at this time is to try to negotiate with your creditors to lower your payments due to a financial hardship, and/or get a second part time job to help. You might also want to become a member here so you can take advantage of a free consultation. Good luck.
