Does FIA/ bank of america offer a hardship program? How far behind do you have to be? Thanks

But let me tell you that these hardship programs show on your credit report and harms credit score significantly. This may lower your future potential to apply for credit.

You can also ask FIA/BOA not to report your participation in the program to the credit bureaus. So, read the documents carefully before signing in the program.

I don't know how far behind you have to be but my husband's account was about 8 months behind and they cut 75% off our balance and we paid it off last month:) I'd talk to them and see what you could do. I was surprised how nice they were.
That's very interesting. So they give you a debt settlement with payments? How much did you owe and how long did they give you to pay them off?

Hello. I just currently did several settlements with B of A and they reduced my balances by 25%-30%. They were very nice to me also. My debt was reduced over $18,000. I stood my ground as to how much I had to offer and work with them on. I was 60 days behind when I began talking with them. I never threatened or became upset when the conversation was not going in my favor. However, I did explain that I had talked with an attorney and I did qualify for Chapter 7, but that I did not want to have to do that. This website has wonderful advice and is worth every word I read. I obtained a lot of knowledge about debt settlement here, and it helped me greatly. Good luck in you journey!
