gambling debt

I signed up with GA and am no longer gambling, but not sure what my options are now. I don't want to declare bankruptcy because of what it does to future credit options. Plus I drive a 8 year old car and will need to get another within the next year or so, so can't afford to be totally screwed on credit.
I can barely afford the payments, but if interest was lower, I think I could manage it myself. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Wanna say Welcome to the Forum. I want to say I commend you for stopping gambling...good for you!! Sometimes some 'issues' really need to slap us in the face to help us realize what is going on. I'm not an 'expert', in this field. But, I wanna let you know someone, in the forum, will get back to you SOON, to help you handle all of this. Keep your chin up...things will get better.

If I were you then I would have gone for debt settlement which can lessen your total debt by 40-60%, depending upon the original creditor with whom you're dealing with. But let me also add here that this program will negatively affect your credit score significantly. But your score will start to improve once you've paid off the debt. Thus your motto will be to payoff the debt through Debt Settlement as quickly as possible.
You can also settle your debts by yourself. To know more on it you can go through the page: -

Just like Chargers...I want to commend you for standing up again
Just like Chargers...I want to commend you for standing up against the strong urge of gambling. I know someone who has also dealt with this kind of addiction and having the strength to overcome that is extremely liberating.
Have you thought about talking with someone at your bank? They may have something for you to work with. Maybe your credit card companies will also be willing to transfer your balances to lower interest cards so that you can pay them down. It also never hurts to pick up a second job if it's possible for you...it can be tiring but it doesn't have to be permanent. That extra income will give you some breathing room.
