GHS Solutions complaints:
Hi - after poking around here for weeks and not being able to get Chase to settle with me I am considering outside help. Anyone have experience with GHS? They actually approached me in a letter and I saw GHS Solutions BBB accreditations. I also saw TASC, USOBA info on their web site.

Thanks. Kay

I have been involved with GHS for a year. I have paid them ALOT of money ($832 per month). They took money from my account with them to settle two large debts.
My money is gone, but the credit card companies say they DID NOT receive the money. I am now being sued by both credit card companies! I am in touch with my lawyer.

Been with this company for over a year. They do very little work to settle any accounts and my wife and I have had to do most of the work to secure payments, set up bank accounts etc. They talk a good talk, but do little else.

listen all of you... GHS is a debt settlement company (dsc). Everyone needs to do their research when entering an agreement with ANY dsc. Most dsc will set a trust account in YOUR name that you pay into every month. this is YOUR account and you have access to it anytime you want. if you do tap into it; why even be in the program. the account is there to pay into so over a period of time, you'll have funds to pay off a creditor. once you have in your trust account about half of what you owe one creditor (usually the one that you owe the least to), the dsc will negotiate a one time settlement. that offer will be presented to you and YOU make the choice to settle or not. the negotiator will tell you if he/she feels it is a reasonable offer. if you go ahead with the payoff, its done. then the whole process is repeated over again until you have in your account about half of what you owe the next creditor in line. at the beginning of the program, letters and notifications are suppose to of gone out. this will put your creditors on notice that you have entered a debt settlement program, have the willingness to pay but this will take time to accumulate funds. now, most if not all creditors will continue to call. if someone owed you money wouldnt you call them. of course. also, the creditors that you owe money will tell you a lot of things; they do not work with dsc, no one has called them, they want their money, blah blah blah. that is the standard int his industry. this is a program/process that take patience on your part, time to build your account ... its doesnt happen over night and is not a quick fix. again, this is if you work with a reputable company. just thought i'd respond here.

I have been a victim of this so called program. They took over three grand from my account, basically did nothing, by the time I realized that this program was not going to work & cancelled my account it was too late! They had the nerve to send me a letter back stating they will refund me $194?? I mean let's be fair here, I understand, that they did an account set up, but let's get real, being charged $2880.00 for account set up?? After calling them (which they hung up on me twice) numerous times, and speaking to a so called refunds supervisor, at this point got no resolve from GHS Solutions. I am hoping someone out there can help me, or has been through this before. I am in serious debt, now I am out $3000, which I could have used for an attorney to help me out with this! I see that GHS Solutions has a lot of complaints online, and over 44 complaints with the better business bureau, down in Delray Beach Florida. I would like to talk to other victims of GHS Solutions shady program, maybe in numbers we can get a resolve. Please contact me at:email removed

They are not a scam...what everybody needs to understand in debt settlement is that its not a race to get done! its a marathon. GHS collects they're fees over the first 4 to 5 months of the program. After that your money is deposited into a SEPERATE bank account that only YOU have access to. Your debts all have to go to collections before any action is taken. Debt settlement companies cannot negotiate with the original creditors. But when the collections agencies its different. You really need to check out TASCSITE.ORG. There are roughly 18 accredited members of TASC. GHS is one of them. And has been. There are several scams out there especially in this economy. However GHS is not one of them. You can even settle your debts on your own people. Wikipedia debt settlement and it explains how its done.

I signed a contract with GHS Solutions back in February... HUGE Mistake! If you use them, please READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY.. I was in desparate circumstances and took the "sales" guy that contacted me at his word and missed the part that they take their fee up front so the money you think is accumulating in this 3rd party account (which comes directly out of your checking account) is barely adding up to anything because they take their cut up front. I just found this out when I sent a letter to terminate my agreement with them and requested my money back. I received a very legal termination acknowledgement letter that I had to sign before they released $558. I paid close to $3000!!! When I called to complain, they told me it was for their fees and that I signed the agreement. I pointed out that they didn't do anything for me in the past 9 months so I wanted ALL of my money back. She (the department supervisor) informed me that there was a lot of behind the scenes things they did that I was unaware of.. I came back that it sure as hell wasn't $2500 worth. They literally did NOTHING at all for me and now I'll be out that much money when I'm already in a very bad situation financially. I've already made some very bad decisions in my life which got me to the point of needing help in the first place and signing an agreement with GHS was definitely the worst decision yet. When I started this program, my credit score was 710... now it is under 500 because I followed the program by not paying any of my creditors. Now, the only option I have to avoid being sued and doing more damage to my credit is to file Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.

Know that entering into a consolidation program with any company to reduce your interest rates, prevents you from purchasing a car or home until the program is completed. This is due to the fact that being in this program will be stated on your credit report. If you quit the program for any reason or miss one payment (ever), forget about buying another car or home on credit until it falls off your credit (7 years from your last payment). This wasn't explained to me when I enrolled and it was impossible buying a car, which I needed for work. I ended up being dropped from the program, because I missed one payment while I was between jobs. However, I did find a good company that settled my debts and they even included free credit repair. I only ended up paying about half of what I owed (including their fee). I recommend DWScott Financial. I think their website is deleted....pm

Checked the BBB complaints today.....drum roll pleez...87 complaints in the 2 or so years trheyve been in business. Over a month ago, I was filed complaint number 69. I was told by a GHS woman via internet when I wrote to clarify how many complaints had been filed that my information was considered harassment and she could file a personal harassment suit on me. Well folks, I've written my true name because I know justice must prevail.

They are a scam. 15 months of taking my money, I did understand up fron the fees, but to not do anything! I had to call them numerous times after I signed the contract to get my welcome/starter info for Rocky Mountain Bank. I finally received it after they took the first payment out and really not sure how they did that since I had not signed the paperwork. I am now being sued by 2 of the 3 credit card companies they were going to neogatie with. once they finally did talk to Discover-it made it worse! They almost immediately filed judgement against me and well I am going to court for a huge garnishment that I cannot afford. Thanks GHS! Debt when i started, all current, $27,000. Debt now-$43,000!
So in the long run they ended up with $5000 in fees, I ended up with $1200 in the account (that I am hoping to get!) and more in debt and court cost. It takes time-I understand that, but don't you think 15 months is long enough and they did nothing!

I will always be leery of any company that tries to make a solicitation letter look like an official government program .There are a lot of less cynical people out there that will fall for that immediately. Dishonest!

If you or GHS were to tell your original crediers that you were in a Debt Settlement Program that s like telling them that you have the money to pay but instead you have hired a company to negotiate for you and you want to play Hardball. Thats when you're likely to have your file sent to legal. Next... you set up a electronic monthly payment with them. So what? Thats a pretty common practice these days. It sounds like you did no research and enrolled in their program without having a clue as to how the program works. GHS has settled all of my $45,000.00 credit card debt for $21,345. They came in under budget and did a fantastic job.

not that im advocating ghs solutions, BUT most settlement companies dont get started till about month 6 for a couple of different reasons. 1 they usually like to deal with collections rather than the origional creditor scince you will get a better settlement that way and 2 it takes a few months to build your account so you can pay the creditor when you do come to a agreement. Almost all my settlements were done between month 6-12. with 1 or 2 hangin in there a little longer. also depending on what they are charging or if they take thier fees out upfront then her account is not building to settle. NOT that i personally believe this is a good company to use because i most likely would not choose them for myself but just sayin

My concern is with the fact that so many of the letters above are signed anonymous. Why don't I see more people who are willing to sign their names? I just signed with GHS and I will do my own research with the Better Business Bureau. At least I'm willing to put my name on this!

This company is very in experienced in the whole debt relieve business. I signed on to there two year debt relieve program, I made my monthly payments, I was on time with all my payments. In November I received a summons to court letter from some law firm, I sent that in to GHS, and with in a week I received a phone call from an individual in there legal dept. This person informed me that this law firm had purchased my debt contract from the bank I owed the original funds to. He informed me that they needed to settle my debt with in the next 30 days. The law firm did not want to wait the two years they wanted to settle then. They wanted 40% in three payment, with in 30 days. Which was very high and we didn???t have the funds. I then asked the person from GHS, what had happened with the contract we signed for the two years? They then stated that they couldn???t help/ continue on this contract due to the nature of the law firm taking it to court so fast, and that my account was unique due to the debt being owed to just one bank and not several different accounts. This which was not mentioned, in the begging of my contract. Nor at any time until they had to settle.I then received a letter to terminate my contract and be issued a refund. I had paid in eight months which should have been about 1800 dollars, I was being refunded only 1000. they were keeping 800 dollars, for what I don???t know. Not only did they not fulfill there end of the contract, they were keeping 800 dollars of my hard earned cash. I have been trying to get a hold of some one and nothing. So the moral of the story is be very careful of what you sign on to. I would look into a deferent company in all. They get very negative feedback from my end.

So I've signed up for GHS and been making payments to them for about four months now. I recently called to ask what they have done on my behalf in nearly half a year's time. I was disappointed to hear that they had not even contacted, and were not even planning to contact any of my creditors for at least another two-four months. Meanwhile, I continue to receive phone calls, collection letters, and spent the last six months watching my credit rating go through the floor. I sincerely hope something happens within the next four months to reassure me that this is not a scam, because I'm starting to get that feeling.

I just started with GHS, they were very very honest as to what exactly it is that they do and cannot do. What I should do, and how I should not become distressed by calls and letters. They did not deny that I may get summoned to go to court. They did mention that one must accumulate sufficient funds in order to make a one time payment at the time of settlelment. If you do not have the funds, then time is needed. They mentioned to me that they work with the collection agency not the credit card company and try to settle for a lower percentage. Smaller amounts will be settled first and the larger ones in time. If you are saying the truth about hardship then you do not need to worry. We the people do not have the government to back us up when we have a economic crisis, the credit card companies do. We have the right to seek relief and if you are not sure about GHS, then look elsewhere.

I agree... say away from these people. Over a year, and they have not contacted even ONE of my creditors. At least contact them and let them know we are willing to work with them! I wish I would have known better... but didnt find these forums until just recently. I would have made a different decision...

Unbelievable...fantastic. Each of the complainants seem to have the same gripe. The fees. This is always a problem when people have issues with money. The fees are collected up front because an overwhelming majority of ALL companies will try to collect money ASAP. that's because they are businesses. The agreement with this company spells out EXPLICITLY how much money goes toward fees (15% of original debt) and when it's collected (there is a fee schedule included with the agreement). If you sign an agreement that outlines a 24-48 month period, and you drop out after 6 - 12 months, YOU broke the agreement. Did you NOT diligently read the agreement? It does state that you will be refunded all monies MINUS fees rather plainly. I've read the agreement...and while the agent involved SHOULD have explained that piece of business, I never depended on a salesman/agent to be totally forthcoming. My grandmother taught me that.

As for scams...each person here was scammed by credit card companies and banks. The agreements we signed were written in a near foreign language. Some of us put our wants before our needs and we signed away our funds. With some measure of discipline, we could set up our OWN debt settlement programs...but don't don't tell your debtors that's what you're doing because they'll sue you until your nose bleeds.

Help yourselves...read stuff BEFORE you sign it. Don't buy on credit...you can't afford it long term.

Obviously the person saying that GHS Solutions is accredited and has an A rating must be representing the company. I went to the BBB website, typed in GHS Solutions. It is neither accredited or rated an A...in fact, it is as another posted stated rated an F http://www.bbb.org/south-east-florida/business-reviews/credit-counseling-and-management-services/ghs-solutions-in-delray-beach-fl-21001591

Buyer beware...do not make your decision off of any posters here...look on BBB for yourself www.bbb.org Perhaps you will get lucky and get the debt relief you need...perhaps not...I,personally, am going to go off of the Better Business Bureau rating and pass on this company.

I just heard of this website today as I am doing research for an English paper, my subject being debt relief. I also signed up with GHS about a year ago out of desperation. In October of 2008, I lost my job of 31 years - what a shock! I was making good money and we were "just" making all of our credit card payments. I was also the main bread-winner for our family, so there was no way we were going to be able to make all of the payments. My niece had used a debt-settlement company prior to this and she had good results, so I figured that was our best option. We didn't want to file bankruptcy. I was very nervous at first and I let them know that, several times. I will admit that I didn't realize they were taking the payments we were making as their fee and that they couldn't pay any of the debts until we had enough money in our account to do so. But, that is only because we didn't read all of the contract. And, it wasn't pointed out to us when we signed up. I didn't understand the workings of it until I called them to find out what they were doing as we were getting a lot of collection letters and calls. It was explained to me in detail and I understood it. We get a monthly statement that shows just what goes in our account and what is taken out of it and it matches the contract. Our monthly payment has decreased as they said it would. They have settled with one company and are working on two or three others at this time. Yes, we did receive court summons also on three of the accounts. As scary as that was, they are handling them. It all takes time. We also received a judgment on one of them (Discover), whom I understand doesn't usually negotiate, however, our arbitrator is working with them to set up a payment plan. We are not getting as many calls as we were at first. I send every collection letter to them as soon as I receive them. I also call them periodically to find out the status of accounts I am worried about. I think it helps if you do call them from time to time and they usually call me back when they say they will. I'm only telling you what our experience has been with them and I understand that all experiences won't be the same. They did say it would take about 4 years and that sounds very reasonable to me. After all, if we were still able to be paying our credit cards, we would be paying on them for more like 30 years!! At the same time, I'm still a little nervous about the whole thing.

I have been with GHS now 18 months and they have been very good to me. They have returned all my phone calls in a timely manner and have settled three of my accounts two of them being legal accounts. It takes time for the program to work so far it has worked for me. I have four more to go and by this time next year I will be debt free if not before.
Thank You Mathew and Jillian for all your hard work.

GHS is a professional company. I entered their program 16 months ago and they have settled 2 out of my 3 credit cards. They settled w/ Chase in about 10 months and settled w/ Bank of America in 16 months. They do not take direct payments, rather they use Bank of Oklahoma for a holding account and draw fees and settlements out of that account. If you default a payment you are automatically dismissed from the program with little chance of recovering your agreed fees. DO NOT default a payment and GHS will settle your accounts. Stay vigilant, calling them with any questions and make sure you stay on top of faxing collection letters to them. GHS is not a scamming company, they are the real deal, and Reggie (my arbitrator) is very professional and helpful. Settling debt is not an overnight miracle, it takes time, it takes patience and you need to stay involved for it to work. If you do all these things, GHS will definitely help you to settle your debt. Do your research and good luck! Its stressful being in this position and no one likes going through this process. GHS has settled 2 out of 3 of my credit cards for a fraction of the original balance. They are real, they do work, just be cooperative and stay active in the program.

I am extremely frustrated with GHS. I have a motion for judgement filed against me and I cannot get a person on the phone that knows what the hell they're doing, let alone speak comprehensible English. They claim to be "re-vamping" their horribly inefficient program in order to help customers better. I have waited a week before getting a phone call back. Even a fax takes 3-5 days to process. Meanwhile the lawyer suing me is full speed ahead. I wish I had never signed up with them, because I am almost $3000 in with them. If anything happens (positively) with my case, I will praise there work, but as of now I am absolutely disgusted with this company...and myself for being so gullible.

The article is misleading: It takes "a look at what members and guests have to say about the company" which includes community feedback that says the Better Business Bureau gives it an A+ Rating. In negative feedback, the article doesn't mention community feedback talking about the "F" rating that GHS Solutions actually has. Google "Better Business Bureau GHS Solutions" and verify this for yourself -- GHS Solutions has an "F" rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Good Nelly: edit your article. Suggesting they have an A+ rating is dangerous for anyone who would be influenced to use them based on your article; don't rely on community opinion when facts are readily available.
