I'm thinking of contacting my mortgage company (BOA - used to be Countrywide), about the new "Home Affordable Refinance", an Obama program. In this one, homeowners have kept up with payments, but really need a refinance. Looking at the details, it seems that I may qualify. Do I have to have a good credit score or pay down credit card debt for this kind of program? I was going to try to refinance conventionally through a local bank once I got some cc debt paid down or off. I'm thinking of looking into this instead. Has anyone had any luck or experience with this program? It's different from the modification program.

I have found a good discussion on Home Affordable Refinance (please check the url below). Hope it'd answer your queries.
