check cashing

As far as I know, both parties must be present to cash or deposit the check into an account. Unless your wife is present to show her id, I don't think you will be able to cash in your check. Nevertheless, you should have a word with your bank manager and take his opinion in this matter.

You may only cash it if your names are listed with "or" between them. It can also be cashed if your names appear separately in different lines. You may then cash it without your wife's permission. All you'd need to do then is to put your signature on back of your check along a line stating "Endorse Here".

On the other hand, if your names appear on both sides of the "&" sign or on both sides of the word "and", then you guys have to do it together.
