I received a call from a Workman Law Office in Jacksonville, FL. They said they were going to proceed with an order to a judge for worthless check on a payday loan if I didnt come up with $510 by noon today. Can they actually do this? What are my legal rights? Please Help!!!

First of all, please list the following information so we can help you.
-Names of each pdl company.
-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.

I am moving this to the payday loan help forum so more people will see it.

Hello

I took a paydayok loan of 900 bucks, it seems like I been paying in this for some time now, and recently I noticed they are not permitting me to pay extra. I can either stick with what they choose every 2 weeks to take out, or I have the option to pay in full. My question is do I owe these people any money, i heard they are no longer permitted to do loans to PA residents.

THanks

No I obtained it from the internet..Paydayok.com. I just know that they are no longer permitted to give loans to PA residents, if I want a new loan ( wish I will never do ) they send me to another site all together.

PayDayOK is a sister company of PayDayOne and ThinkCash who are known for giving legal pdls & installment loans. PayDayOK is not known for giving illegal pdls. Someone recently posted from PA the same thing about a loan with PayDayOne that they could no longer get a new loan as well.

How long ago did you get this loan? Have you read over your contract? I'm betting its an installment loan or if it is a pdl it will be legal and given back before the laws changed in PA (Feb, I think it was). Although because of the large amount of the loan I would think installment.

Yes it is a installment loan.. its its something like 455% .. SO they take the Interest fees plus 10% of the principal balance every 2 weeks from my account..

This call did not come from my law firm. Although my firm does collect outstanding consumer loans, we do it legally. I would never authorize this behavior. I have recently become aware of our name being used without my knowledge or permission, and I believe I have put a stop to it.

I'm in arizona and i have 10 payday loans, after the first 8 i got, i knew realized that i had prob paying them back, they wouldn't work with me so i closed the account and opened another account, not all of them are allowing me to pay payments and are sayin they will file at court. I opened another account and the situation came up and i needed another loan, so i got 2 on my new account with the full intention of paying them back. Well, after i got them, i lost my job, they said they will send my check through, so again, i closed my new account and opened yet another account. They are in the process of sending the other 2 in. I'm really worried that i can go to jail as i am only supposed to have 1 loan in arizona. Some of them are store front loans, others like Advance America, Check n Go, Allied Cash are willing to work with me, the other arent and are taking collection actions, the new ones i just got are store front as well. I'm REALLY worried that i am going to go to jail, i want to pay these back and i'm again really really worried. I am now unemployed and do not have the money to pay them back. I lost my job within the past few days. Is there any advice you can offer...PLEASE...
