I owe Kohls 2250 I stopped paying about 6 months now, they sent me a letter offering me to pay 1213.52, I didnt have the money, so I didnt agree. Now they have snet me to a collection agency, and they want 1590 I dont have a lump sum. When it hits a collection agency do they start the negotiations over, do you think they will go lower after awhile? Chase owns the debt for Kohls.

did you communicate with kohls throughout the six months and work on a settlement with them or was this settlement letter out of the blue? when they offered the initial settlement did they give you a period of time to pay it? what, if anything, can you afford to pay now?
