Law Firm is trying to collect on the debt we already paid!

i received a letter from Law firm in Columbus trying to collect on credit card that we paid off 20 years ago and they said - they are going to garnish my wages!
i know, that that loan had been resold several times for all these years and we settled for 80% with one of the buying collection agency. they said - the have court decision to garnish my paycheck.
Please, would you give us some direction to get rid of their harassing letter???

i would also
since that letter is jam packed with illegalities.i would include an"intent to sue"in there as while they are full of it with the court decision.you can sue them if you feel frisky enough.

I had the same problem. All of a sudden I had a CA send me a letter for a debt that was paid some years ago. When I called him back, this person insisted the debt was never paid, etc. I asked for some other vaidation for this bill. According to the CA they 'were not obligated to send me one. I was screaming at them.."you really think I'm gonna give you money with no proof on your part?" They said "within 48 hours we will file suit within your county." That was a few years ago and I haven't heard from them sense.
