A debt settlement company has promised to help me win a lawsuit filed my creditor. They have also told that I can walk away from my debts by paying less than what I owe.
Previously, I was planning to consult an attorney. But, now I am relieved. I don't have to deal with anything. Thank you.

It's always better to hire a lawyer or take help from a law firm. They're better equipped to deal with such situations. Moreover, they can also advice if the creditor violates FDCPA. However, inquire about the fees before you decide to take help from a law firm or a lawyer.

If you want to work with the debt settlement company, first read their agreement carefully, find out the qualifications of its staff, inquire whether or not they are qualified to deal with legal issues, and so on. Only when you're convinced of their competency to rescue you out of your debt problems, should you believe in the promises made by that debt settlement company.
