Unfortunately the debtor cannot state what the terms of a debt settlement will be...or what the letter of settlement sent from the collection agency will say. The debt settlements issued by each CA are generally standard and cannot be changed per client requirements.

I think you can make the terms of the debt settlement and what it should say, as long as it is what it should say. Alot of CA are trying to get you to pay them and get paid some more. I had one CA mail me a settlement letter ans it was worded that I would be making a payment on the debt, not settling it in full. When I called them on it they appoligized and sent another one.
