Here are some facts
I have 2 credit cards with balances both accounts are in good standing. Unfortunately my savings is now gone and I don't know how much longer I will be able to keep up with the minimum payments.
The first card is with citi $2400 with 0% interest till september 2012
the second is with chase $30,000 with 13% interest
I'm back at work and my yearly income is $35,000
I'm not to worried about the citi card its the chase card that has me concern. Some one suggested I contact Take Charge America. While researching them I came across this site and it seems like a lot of people are doing their own negotiating. So I have no Idea where to start.

First, I suggest you contact Chase and see if they can put you on a hardship plan. Generally, they'll eliminate (or greatly reduce) your interest rate and set you up on a payment plan that will have you paying the account off in 5 years. That would put you at $500/month if they go with 0% interest. They will also close the account. When you call, to be considered, they'll ask you about your income and your bills. Be prepared to share this info with them.

Thanks for the advice I'll give them a call on Monday. Do I just call the phone number on my bill and talk to a normal CSR? Also how should I approach the subject explain my situation or ask for a hardship plan?

I have chase and citibank also --
my chase is around 30 k also -- with 3 cards -- one just charged off recently and went to united collections --
I just could not do the hardship plan -- tried to settle for 20 percent with chase -- lowest they went was 35 percent -- at 180 - 200 days past due --
on citibank I had 6000 == settled for 30 percent with them -- so that's done --
good luck -- email anytime :):p
