I haven't borowed a nickel in almost three years (Dec 2007) , I am in a non profit "Consumer Credit Counseling" payment plan for some of my creditors and others have allowed me to modify our original arrangement so I could pay them back.
My problem now is that my home owners insurance bill is coming due and they want over $800 up front and a payment plan that will break my budget.
You guys have any tips? Ideas where I might get a $3k loan with a payback of $100 or less... getting close to giving up, this could be the proverbial "last straw".
Any tips on special loan programs for folks with bad credit. (that's another thing, no new debt in three years , all payments on time as agreed, but credit rating still in the tank?

Being on a credit counselling would certainly prevent you from borrowing more. You must have been told that at the beginning of the program that you can't acquire more debt when you're into the program. I'd suggest that you rather discuss the hardship with your counsellor to work out a solution.

You can also check with your friends or family if someone would loan you the money.
