Hi,
I'm looking for information for my boyfriend who back in July had emergency life saving surgery. He is self employed. He does have medical insurance, however the coverage is limited. For example, the hospital portion of his 10 day stay was 85,000. the insurance paid 25,6000. That doesn't include his surgeon, etc.
Is there a program or process that will assist him with getting the costs lowered?
Thanks! Susan

Depending on his salary, sometime you can get a hardship. Have him talk with the hospital, they do have programs, but you have to qualify.

My brothers' wife had a stroke and they had no money to pay bills with after she lost her job, and he had to take care of her.

As far as the Doctors go, have him talk with them also, sometimes they have their own programs where they will finance the bill and let you make payments.

Just don't ignore them and they will usually work with you..Good Luck..karen
