There is no harm in filing an complaint with the FTC. If you don't own the account, you're not liable to pay it. You may even have a word with your attorney and take his/her opinion in order to know what steps you can take in this matter.

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
Ask them to send you a debt validation letter. Check whether the debt is properly validated and you really owe money to Resurgent. If not, then send a cease and desist letter to them. They are less likely to disturb you after that. If they still contact you, report the matter to FTC.

resurgent and lvnv are almost one and the same.in fact look at the letter you received from both.i would send the DV letter you sent to lvnv to resurgent.again certfied mail return receipt.this is the game the JDB lvnv plays.collection ping pong.there is two other bottomfeeders connected with lvnv.just keep at it with the DV letters.if it persists you can go to WWW.NACA.NET and find a contingency consumer attorney and sue lvnv as they are trying to use their affiliates to get around the valdation as they know they are throwing sh*t to the wall hoping it sticks.btw the FTC would need an ungodly number of complaints to act.better to sue this place after awhile.
