So, I have been told mann Bracken no longer exists - I am to be in court Tuesday -Dell the creditor but I answered a civil summons to Mann Bracken. Court person told me she did not know who would show up for MB, no attorney was listed, just Dell. So, will they get a judgement against me for $2500? I am confused - I have to be here , they may not - never been through such crap before

As Mann Bracken is not into the picture anymore, I would suggest you to contact the original creditor, Dell.

Did you request for a debt validation? If you had any kind of plan or discussion with Mann Bracken previously, you can share it with Dell and check out whether Dell intends to honor it or not.

Don' t give the creditor a chance to have default judgment against you, by not showing up to the court.
Do get a copy of your credit report for ascertaining the matter. You can also ask for a motion to dismiss if no body from their end turns up.

Moreover, if you are able to prove hardships then you will get some more time to repay. Chalk out a payment plan and start a negotiation with Dell, to avoid judgment.
