College Student in Debt.......

Hey everyone... I'm 20 years old, and when I was 18 I thought I could handle having a credit card... but I was wrong. So I messed up, went over my $500.00 limit by missing payments, and now I'm consumed in interest. I know it's not a lot to be $500 in debt, but I am sick of paying the same payment over and over again because of interest. I can only make small payments since I goto school full time and work part time. I'll pay $30.00 or so, and then by the next statement I'm over my limit from interest again. I dont know what to do. I don't have $500 just to pay it off. Any advice?

Here is what I would do...I would get some type of extra work (part-time) so you can make extra payments or double up on payments to get your balance down and manageable. If extra work is not an option---see if there is somewhere your current budget can squeeze out an extra $5-10 that you can pay on your credit card above and beyond the current monthly payment. This not only helps you lower the charges and interest, but it looks good on your account too.
