you should be reading the contract you signed with the debt settlement company. That should outline the refund policy.

I'm assuming the Debt Settlement company did nothing for you. I've been in that situation before. After a few months, on company that I tried, did absolutly nothing for me and I was paying them every month. They said they "had no obligation to give me a refund." It was frustrating to deal with. Just becareful on which company to go with.

It will depend upon the debt settlement company whether or not they will refund the money that you had paid them. If the terms of the agreement mention the fact that they won't refund the money, then you won't be able to get any refund.

The chance of getting any refund is very remote. Most settlement companies don't refund the money once you have paid them. Rather, this is one of the drawbacks of debt settlement companies. However, if there is any clause in the contract where the settlement company has agreed to refund your money in the event of early cancellation, then they are legally bound to pay back the money.
