Wage Garnishment North Carolina

Hoping you can help with some advice, my girlfriend has just been issued with a wage garnishing order, She lives and works in NC, but her employers head office is located in New Mexico, Can anyone advise if this is legal as the debt regards an auto which she returned to the dealership within 60 days, and they said if she did there would be no further consequences. This was 2 years ago and they are now chasing after 25% of her wages, Under North Carolina law it says she cannot be garnished for auto claims, so wonder how they can do this just because her head office is in a state that allows you to garnish wages for auto debts. Any help or advice would be so great, thanks in advance.

In reference to garnishment of my wages for an auto I had purchased and returned to the dealership in Oklahoma; I live and work in North Carolina where the law does not allow wage garnishment for auto finance, however my company has garnished my wages anyway. What can I do now?
time to sue
find a lawyer in your area and sue your company.go to www.naca.net .bottomline your head office is stupid and they broke the law in garnishing your wages.i take it you bought up the fact that NC is non-garnishment.if so then trying to bring up the law to a group of baboons in NM is pointless.get your money back by suing.
