I joined CLA Consumer Law Assoc about a year ago for debt settlement. They have been great and I have settled some accounts already. They recently changed some of their ways because of the new law changes and I now cannot sign up any additional cards ( I stupidly held out 4 cards when I signed up to try to keep a few open) that I could not keep up with financially. I have done enough settlements to understand how it works but I am trying to figure out the best thing for these 4 debits which total 35-40K. Two of the 4 which are Citibank have filed suit which I have put off by filing an answer through the Calif Superior Court system. I do not want to do bankruptcy because of my profession (which has taken a 60% or better pay hit in the last 2 years. I am currently in the job market even though I am working bringing in far less right now. My prospects look good and when I find correct employment I can pay things relatively quickly. It's hard to go from $300K/yer to under $100K very humbling experience. Any thoughts and who would be a good debit settlement company if I need to find an additional one? I hate to pay 2 maintenance fees if I do that. I getting harassed by NCO and another comapny so it appears everything is in the hands of 3rd parties so I think it has been sold off. Sorry for being so long but it says be specific and I see you have answered a lot of people and it just so happened that you joined on my birthday Feb 7th so I thought I reach out to you. if you can't help me maybe you can point my to someone who can.
Thanks

What do you mean "put off"? Usually after you file your answer the lawsuit follows fairly quickly. You should be negotiating with the law firm suing on behalf of Citibank now.....

NCO works a lot of accounts 3rd party.....debts are not always sold.

You can do debt settlement yourself. You are wasting mone paying someone else to do it.
