My name on chexsystems is going to be 5 years tomorrow, which, according to chexsystems website, is when it will be deleted. This is from what I'v read on chexsystems, that they expire in 5 years? Do they come off of my record automatically? Do I have to do anything to get it off?
I'm scared to even try to get a new bank account in case I get turned down. Will banks still have records that I used to be on the chexsystems? Is it possible that they extend it past 5 years?
Also, I don't have good credit, I have bad credit, is that going to get in the way of me getting a bank account?

It should come off automatically but sometimes takes a full reporting cycle (so I'd wait 30 - 90 days). Or, you could also just request a copy of your chexsystems report.

There are also many banks that offer "2nd chance" checking accounts. As long as the Chex item has been paid, they will open an account for you.

You credit report won't have anything to do with getting a checking account. The only thing that could get in the way is if you have previous fraud listed there.
