I have searched and cannot find anything. I am trying to get credit card debt settled because I am over extended and the fees and interest keep increasing the minimum payment. I cannot afford these payments any longer, and some of these are 60 days,or more, past due. the collector's call are nonstop. I contacted 'new era' based on something that I saw somewhere, and I was wondering if it was when I was reading something on this site the other day. Now I want to get my debt handled and I was on the verge of letting 'new era' take care of it and I started getting "buyer's remorse" and want to be sure that it is legit. Any knowledge of this company would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm settling my own debt. If you have a true hardship you can work with your creditors. However, creditors will not even start to talk settlement until you are about 90-120 days late then start negotiating at about 30 to 40%, just before chargeoff BOA will settle at 20% sometimes.

So how are you approaching settling your own? What is the process? Did you get the info from this site? Is it worth having someone else do it, or should I just do it myself?

just know that if you say the wrong thing or have a creditor that will not settle you will end up making payments if you can afford them which will take away money from settlements and the next thing you know, you are paying a creditor who is reporting on your credit report which will then take away your chances of settlement altogether and you are back to square one with screwed up credit. If you have any doubts, hire someone.

Looks like a debt fixer is in the room. You just be honest with your creditor and at about 120 days they will settle if you have a true hardship and you have a lump sum settlement, they will take it usually between 30-50%.
Settling Debt
Also wondering about New Era Debt Solutions and whether anyone has had a good or bad experience with them. Am trying to research companies but don't know if you can really believe what they tell you.
Prestige Financial Solutions
Has anyone had experience with Prestige Financial Solutions. I also want to settle my debt, but I have no clue which company is good. All I've heard is that just about all of them are bad. Has anyone out there had a good experience with these companies?
