New Era debt solutions has an F rating with the BBB.
They changed their name from DTS Financial Group.
I would shop around with other settlement companies that are in good standing with the BBB. Companies like New Beginnings debt settlement LLC , Superior debt relief , Century Negotiations. Or since you mentioned possibly looking into hiring a law firm you could consider The Johnson Law Group , Oak View Law , or the Roll Law Office. The fees are usually pretty much the same whether you choose a settlement company or a law firm.

Since I am in good standing still with all my bills, I am going to keep struggling through. Reading through some of the postings on this site has made me realize there is no way out. Turning my good accts over to some yahoos who will make them bad and then not settle them seems counterintuitive to me. I will talk to some law firms today to see what they say.
CREDITSOLUTIONS
I am about ready to sign a contract with CREDITSOLUTIONS company as they seem have more awards and capable. But they are not an active member with TASC and BBB. Most of my credit cards are maxed and owe about $93k and cannot make ends meet every month. My credit score is terrible and no company even wanted to talk to me for loan. Feels like I am working for AMEX/VISA and MC. The homeless with the signs work for food is better off than me. A settlement company such as creditsolutions would seem a better options to me than filling for bankrupcy since I own two properties. Any suggestions?
Settlement companies have no legal standing in which to negotiat
Settlement companies have no legal standing in which to negotiate debt with your credit card company. They are not lawyers and are not allowed by law to do so, no matter what contract you sign with them, or what they say to you. The truth is many people, you can contact the Federal TRade Commission for more information, many people have found that settlement companies left them with a heap of debt, and no bills that were paid or settled at all. It leaves the consumer such as you, in a real bind with a credit rating that is just as ruined as if you had gone through bankruptcy. There are many levels of bankruptcy, and you will probably be able to keep your property, and clear your credit in just the same amount of time as it would take to get around the mess a settlement company will leave you with. See your local phone book, not online, talk to an attorney with a good reputation and BBB standing, and their office will be able to help you get out of your debt problems, and they will provide a real settlement as well, and legally. Debt settlement companies are usually not working within the letter of the law because they are not attorneys. Talk to a real bankruptcy attorney. It is possible to save your property and credit rating with an attorney, but debt settlement companies do not have the power to do this. Good luck.
debt settlement
You can find lawyers with a good reputation who will do debt settlement. I have one who charges 10% of the total debt but only for those he gets settlement from. You pay into an escrow account like with any other program.
I'd go with a lawyer not a company
Just my 2c - still early in the process
