If the collection agency is not co-operating with you, then you should contact the original company and inform them that you want to deal with them directly. Request them to withdraw the account from the collection agency. You can negotiate for a pay for delete agreement with them. But it will be the creditor's discretion to accept or reject the PFD letter. If the creditor refuses to deal with you, then you'll have to send the PFD letter to the collection agency.
