Northway Financial Corporation Ltd default registered in Australia

i am a broker in Australia trying to help out a fellow client who has had a default registered against her on the Australian Credit File from Northway Financial Corporation Ltd for $229.47 from 11 January 2010. She has never heard of this company, never had a pay day loan so I am wondering if they have lodged default without any proper id checks including date of birth, address, place of work etc.
