Debt settlement programs on Line

I decided over the weekend to purchase a program for self help debt settlement. The cost of the program was $400 and it is suppose to have Audio CD's and a workbook to help you settle with your creditors. I've called a few settlement companies and they want 15% of my debt to settle for me - my debt is $134,000 - that's quite a chunk of change and if I'm ever going to get out of debt I need all my money for myself, I can't afford fees. The other thought is that if I get sued during the process, I'll need money for a lawyer to help me out. This is very stressful and it's my alternative to bankruptcy that will stay on my record for 10 YEARS. If I do debt settlement, within a few years I should be able to obtain financing and within 7 years it is off my report.
