It looks like I have gotten inot this online payday advanced problem too. I was surfing the net, trying to find an address for GFSIL and I happend on to this web site. I am somewhat scared. It looks like I am one step ahead of some of you, in that I just closed my bank account last week and opened a new one because I have direct deposit. The phone calls and emails have started to come in. I guess I am looking for guidance on how to handle this nightmare. I tried asking for a payment plan from GFSIL and they still want to charge me to refinance the loan until I can pay it off. If I could afford all of these loans I have, then I would not have closed my account. Please help before they attack and granish my wages. I am so afraid of this. I have 10 internet loans due to a separation and taking on the full financial responsibility of my 2 children unexpectedly. I have requested that they send me an agreement in writing, but no response. Eastside lending is the same way. Not willing to work with me. Where do I find the laws for the state of Ohio? Please Help!!!!

Welcome poohmolly! I'm from OH also, and I've been right where you are at! The only internet pdl licensed in OH is CashNet.Which companies are you dealing with and how long have you been paying on them? If you have been rolling them over, OH doesn't allow roll-overs. You need to go online to the OH AGs website and file a complaint online against each of these internet pdls. And if you signed a voluntary wage assignment in your contract, revoke it immediately to be on the safe side. OH doesn't allow voluntary wage assignments, only if they are by court order only

They can't garnish your wages. Send them a letter revoking your voluntary wage assignment, if in fact they use those.

How much was the loan for, and how much have you paid in refinance fees so far? Here are the OH laws...

Criminal action for defaulting on a pdl storefront or internet is prohibited. OH only allows for licensed pdls to get civil judgement only. I noticed the criminal action was stated as unspecified. So if they call and tell you that they are filing fraud charges or having you arrested, this is a lie. If you go online to the AG's office and do the complaints they get them immediately and forward them to the Dept. of Commerce, Division of Financial Institutions. They are putting together a file of all the internet pdl complaints.

You have done the right thing by closing your checking account, because GFSIL will definitely do the unauthorized debits if not done yet.

Check the other lenders if they are licensed in your state. If they are not listed with the Ohio Division of Financial Institutions, you have to file your complaints for doing illegal business in your state. In that situation, the lenders will be willing to work with your arrangements.

Here are those I have borrowed from:

Ameriloan: $300 and have paid back $410 over 8 weeks

GFSIL: $200 and have paid back $395 over 10 weeks

VC Funding: $300 and have paid back $270 over 6 weeks

ASAP : $300 and have paid back $45o over 10 weeks

FastCash: $400 and have paid back $700 over 14 weeks

Northway (Cash Transfer Centers): $600 it did not roll I just have to pay them because I closed my account

Eastside Lending: $200 have not paid them anything yet because I closed my account

Net Cash USA: $500 have not paid them yet because I closed my account

How do I send them the wage thing? Most of them I only have a phone number for. The same goes for the Attorney General's letter.

Poohmolly, did you file your AG complaint on line? If you did you get a confirmation e-mail with phone numbers and fax numbers to send your paperwork that you have as your evidence. It looks like you have paid ameriloan, GFSIL, AASAP, FastCash back by OH pdl laws, definately demand they mark your account paid in full in your settlement letter, and state this is the only resolution to the matter in your complaint with the AG's office, the complaints are building here against Ameriloan, VCfunding and ASAP. Try calling the companies and request a fax number, and if they refuse let the AGs office know because they may be able to get it out of them. The AGs office does follow up on your complaints to each company and demands a response, they will also forward your complaints to the Division of Financial Institutions.
You should only owe VC Funding about $75 by OH law.
