I believe I have paid off an old creidt card account, but it appears on my credit report. Where do I go to straighten out this matter?

Several things will come into play on this one. First, how old is the account? These accounts can only stay on your credit report for 7.5 years total from the original date of delinquency. It is possible that the account should be taken off for that reason.
